INTRODUCTION OF A MEMBER & FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Effective June 1, 2009

Effective June 1, 2009, the Trustees introduced a new benefit under the Health & Welfare Plan – a Member & Family Assistance Plan, provided by Homewood Human Solutions™. This benefit provides you and your family with immediate, confidential help for any concern. It’s a voluntary support service that can help you solve all kinds of problems and challenges that you may face in life.

You and/or your family members may contact Homewood Human Solutions™ directly for assistance and receive it immediately through a qualified, professional counselor. Face to face counseling is offered by professional staff within 48 to 72 hours of initial contact.

Fully confidential treatment is provided for a full range of personal and family issues or life events including, but not limited to: addiction (alcohol, drug, food, gambling, sex, smoking), ageing parents, anger management, career development, child development, communication problems, depression, member / group conflict, family dynamics and family illnesses, financial and legal concerns, grief and bereavement, harassment, health and fitness issues, human learning and motivation, job-related stress, marriage difficulties, personal adjustment problems, personality development, physical and sexual abuse, psychological and emotional disorders, psychopathology, retirement adjustment, separation / divorce / custody, single parenting, special needs of children, stress and trauma.
